Collins Aerospace invites applications for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering role located at Cedar Rapids, IA. This position focuses on software development for control and diagnostic systems in aerospace.

• Conduct and coordinate moderately complex tests for control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research to assist equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Analyze system capabilities and determine end‑user needs to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition to ensure current and future business needs are met.
• Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
• Design and implement build procedures that support hardware and software product development.
• Develop software configuration standards for company‑wide use.

• Minimum:
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role.
• Alternative:
  Master’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role.
• At least 3 years of experience in embedded software development and verification.
• At least 3 years of experience developing software using C, C++, Ada, or Python.
• At least 3 years of experience in HMI VAPS development and verification.
• At least 3 years of experience in the avionics industry.
• At least 3 years of DO‑178B/C development experience.

The salary range for this role is $86,800.00 to $ USD per year.
