Senior Principal Software Engineer – APNT (Onsite)
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Security Clearance: DoD Secret required.
Responsibilities- Lead and execute software development in collaboration with subject matter experts for real‑time embedded navigation and timing solutions.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing software team focused on growth in technical and process excellence.
- Drive modernization of the software development life cycle through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) initiatives.
- Provide project execution management, including detailed planning, cost account management, status reporting, and active participation in software/system design and implementation.
- Maintain agile practices, facilitating sprint ceremonies, user story refinement, product demos, and retrospectives.
- Communicate progress and issues to stakeholders and lead disciplined root‑cause analysis for technical challenges.
- Lead bid and planning processes for software engineering projects.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a STEM degree, or 7 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree.
- Must be eligible for, and capable of maintaining, a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- Strong understanding of navigation and timing systems, with a track record of architecting and delivering embedded software solutions.
- Proven leadership in complex, cross‑functional engineering environments.
- Experience with GPS and/or antenna electronics development.
- Expertise in Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) project bidding, budgeting, scheduling, and scope management.
- Fluency with Scaled Agile Framework and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Software development proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Docker, Artifactory, Git Lab pipelines.
