Collins Aerospace’s Communication Systems teams are on the front lines of innovation, designing embedded communication solutions that keep military forces connected worldwide. We’re looking for a Software Engineer II to shape secure communications.

• Design and develop cutting‑edge embedded software, networking, and communication products in C/C++ and Rust.
• Drive project success by collaborating on requirements, implementation, test development, and certification.
• Lead initiatives and organize tasks for team members.
• Make decisions supporting cost, schedule, and technical performance.

• Gain technical leadership experience and mentorship.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, obtaining hands‑on experience with new technologies.
• Engage with a multidisciplinary team to develop a cross‑functional skillset.
• Grow into a subject matter expert on your projects and programs.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or advanced degree in STEM.
• 1+ year experience in embedded software development.
• 1+ year experience in Python and C/C++.
• Active U.S. Department of Defense clearance (preferred).
• Experience with Linux development environments.
• Experience in multiple phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Experience with networking and communications protocols.
• Experience with Rust programming language.
• Experience with multithreading and containerization.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
