Senior Engineering Manager – Software (Training Systems)

- Lead a team of 10–20 software engineers, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and servant leadership.
- Oversee the full software lifecycle: bids, proposals, requirements, design, development, integration, testing, verification, validation, and delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and project management, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Manage staffing supply to align firm and projected demand with appropriate staff levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leaders, program managers, and operations managers.
- Drive data‑driven decision‑making, risk identification, and mitigation in a dynamic environment.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and integrate new talent into the organization.
- Communicate updates to leadership and cross‑functional teams through prepared presentations.
- Manage staff retention, career development, and advancement, providing access to leadership development programs and mentorship opportunities.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams and projects in software development environments.
- Knowledge of simulation systems or software engineering principles.
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Spiral.
- Experience designing and implementing a large‑scale modularized, reusable product base that supports multiple products.
- Background in C/C++/C#, Visual Studio, Python, Java, Angular, or other related programming languages.
- Experience with ALM tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jama, Bamboo, and Crucible.
- Experience with Git Lab, Docker, Kubernetes, and other modern Dev Ops tools.
- Strong technical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface with senior leadership.
- Experience working on proprietary or classified programs within aerospace or defense industries.
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation systems and domain expertise in Mission Planning, Electronic Warfare, or Sensors.
- Experience with AI third‑party applications in software systems.
- Proven track record of delivering complex software programs and mentoring junior engineers.

USD 132,400 – 251,600 (annually, based on experience, location, and role).
