Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA.
What YOU Will Do- Engage in all stages of product development life cycle for the Cabin Management system.
- Lead execution across the development life‑cycle from requirements capture through development and verification testing of multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Design and implement build procedures that support hardware and software product development and use.
- Design, develop, document, test and design control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determine end‑user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
- Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub‑systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
- Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
- Ensure novel ideas and implementation are captured and protected using applications IP processes and tools.
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience in an Embedded Systems Engineering or related position. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in Embedded Systems Engineering or related position.
- Must possess at least 2 years of experience performing software development, integration and testing of aircraft lighting, audio/video, or cabin management systems.
- Must possess at least 1 year of experience with markup languages like HTML, XML, databases like SQL, and computer scripting languages like Python, Perl.
- Must possess at least 1 year of experience working with aircraft cabin management systems or in‑flight entertainment systems development life cycle.
- Non‑U.S. Person – Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
Salary Range: $ to $ per year.
