Job TitleAlgorithms Systems Engineer
Position OverviewCollins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking an Algorithms Systems Engineer to support the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program. The role involves running and testing modeling and simulation of algorithmic models using Simulink and MATLAB, documenting equations and derivations, performing data and statistical analysis, and contributing to lab‑based work on target products.
Key Responsibilities- Test algorithms and models for the JPALS program
- Develop necessary tools for testing
- Work on multiple tasks in a software development environment
- Conduct system troubleshooting analysis
- Improve code quality through code reviews and best practices
- Perform test and integration tasks in a lab environment on the real‑world product
- Proficiency in MATLAB, including code optimization and numerical stability
- Experience with Simulink or equivalent model‑based development tool
- Experience in systems engineering discipline
- Experience reading and developing algorithm descriptions, mathematical expressions, and derivations, matrix manipulations, outlier analysis, and system‑level analysis
- Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field
- Experience performing complex statistical analysis and/or mathematical modeling
- Experience performing model‑driven design using Simulink
- Experience performing data analysis and problem solving (e.g., anomaly investigation)
- Willingness to travel and do field work

Salary range: $68,900 - $131,100 USD. This is a U.S.
-based role. U.S. citizenship required for security clearance (DoD Secret). Candidate must possess active & existing security clearance after day 1.
