Job Summary
Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX, is recruiting a Senior Engineering Manager – MANTA Software Engineering (Onsite). The role focuses on leading a team that designs, develops, and tests real‑time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military applications.
Location:
Cedar Rapids, IA.
Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 per year.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor staff across all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, verification, and formal configuration management.
- Provide direction for software capability development, integration onto target hardware, issue troubleshooting and resolution, and support field demonstration and integration efforts.
- Allocate resources and manage overall administrative aspects of the team.
- Engage in day‑to‑day employee coaching, performance management, and career development, including onboarding, training, and performance correction.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 10years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 7years of experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and proficiency with Agile methodology.
- Experience in software engineering, preferably in embedded or real‑time systems.
- Proficiency in verbal and written technical communication.
- Capability to travel domestically as needed.
- Advanced degree in technical, management, or leadership.
- Demonstrated talent or experience in talent/career development leadership.
- Ability to innovate and solve problems in a results‑oriented environment.
- Comfortable working with diverse teams and peer leaders.
