Collins Aerospace – Software Engineer I (PNT) – Onsite, Cedar Rapids, IA
The Software Engineer I will work on Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) products for military, airborne, and maritime applications. This role involves embedded software development and real‑time system design.
Responsibilities- Requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, and documentation.
- Develop embedded software for real‑time navigation systems.
- Maintain and update existing software.
- Design and develop test scripts and tools.
- Write and maintain technical documents.
- Support field demonstration efforts.
- Provide customer support.
Must Have
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Less than two years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- Motivation to solve problems and continuously improve products.
- Desire to contribute to a results‑oriented product development team.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
- A genuine desire to learn and innovate.
- Experience with C, C++, Ada, or other high‑order languages in an embedded application environment.
- Experience with Python test scripting.
- Experience with Agile development methodology.
- Strong writing skills for security certification documentation.
- Experience with embedded hardware and real‑time hardware systems.
- Experience with Eclipse, Jira, and Jama.
- Knowledge of communication systems, message handling, digital signal processing, or Kalman filter theory.
