Embedded Software Verification Engineer (DO-178C) – Contract
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 4 Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Saturday (Saturday work required)
Start Date: ASAP
Job SummaryWe are seeking experienced Embedded Software Verification Engineers to support multiple avionics software projects focused on Display Head Software and Touch Screen Software
. This role requires engineers with strong experience in DO-178C DAL A or DAL B Requirements-Based Verification
, Embedded C++, and Low-Level Software Integration & Verification
. Candidates must be able to contribute immediately in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
- Perform DO-178C DAL A/B requirements-based software verification activities.
- Develop, execute, review, and maintain software verification artifacts, including:
- Test Cases
- Test Procedures
- Test Reports
- Execute verification tests on embedded hardware platforms and analyze results.
- Perform low-level software integration and verification, including unit testing and debugging.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, verification engineers, and reviewers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in daily Agile team meetings and work closely with both onsite teams and global engineering teams.
- Review verification documentation for technical accuracy and DO-178C compliance.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues in a laboratory environment.
- Support multiple avionics software programs while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering or software verification (3–4 years of highly relevant experience may also be considered).
- Hands‑on experience with DO-178C DAL A or DAL B Requirements-Based Verification
. - Experience with Low-Level Software Integration and Verification
, including unit testing. - Strong programming experience with Embedded C++.
- Experience executing and debugging software on embedded hardware platforms.
- Ability to work independently with minimal training in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with DO-178C DAL A or DAL B Requirements Development
. - Experience supporting avionics, aerospace, or other safety-critical embedded systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or another STEM discipline (preferred but not required).
- 100% onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.
- Daily collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Saturday work is currently required to support project schedules.
- Immediate contribution is expected with minimal ramp-up time.
