Route Driver - Utility

Job Summary

The Route Driver – Utility operates company‑owned trucks along established routes to deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items, and sundries to customers’ places of business. The position also includes collecting money from vending machines, re‑filling bill and coin changers, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe and clean operating conditions. Pay is a fixed rate of $25.00 per hour with potential commission eligibility.

• Service a particular route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
• Assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing of the operation and train new route service personnel.
• Drive the truck to deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items, and sundries to customer locations.
• Place stock on shelves or racks in vending machines; collect stale, rejected, or unsold merchandise; collect money from machines and refill bill and coin changers.
• Record transactions on the appropriate card and/or electronic device; be accountable for cash and product.
• Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; inform regular customers of new products and/or services; listen to and resolve service complaints.
• Select items from the warehouse and load the truck; prepare order forms for food and pastry products.
• Perform routine maintenance on and sanitation of machines.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform job safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving.
• Previous route driver experience is preferred.
• Complete a Florida Level 2 background screening if required.
