Position Description

Ryder is hiring Material Handlers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The position is a Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver. Pay is $20.00 hourly, with overtime at $30.00, and an additional $2.00 per hour. Shift: 2nd Shift, Sunday – Saturday (scheduled 4 days a week).

Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
  • Work within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
  • Accurately pick and pack, audit, tote induction, staging of products, and load/unload trucks.
  • Handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be a team player and work within a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly thorough and dependable.
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record.
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work using health and safety methods.
  • Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on various shifts.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
