Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA, is looking for a Warehouse Associate / Baler Operator!
Position Summary:
Our client, a nonprofit retail and donation organization in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a dependable Warehouse Associate / Baler Operator to support its Retail Support Center. This position is responsible for sorting donated materials, operating a textile baler, preparing merchandise for shipment, and maintaining an organized warehouse. Associates will begin on the baler and may have the opportunity to advance into a forklift position after consistently meeting the Standard baler production goal and successfully completing forklift certification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Move donated clothing and textiles into the baler
- Safely operate the textile baler to compress materials into bales
- Consistently work toward daily bale-production goals
- Presort clothing, textiles, and other donated materials
- Prepare merchandise and materials for shipment to retail locations
- Load, unload, move, and store materials throughout the warehouse
- Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory, and recordkeeping duties
- Reconcile quantities of materials received, stored, and shipped
- Operate a pallet jack, trash compactor, and other warehouse equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all warehouse procedures and equipment safety requirements
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to consistently lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and perform repetitive physical work throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable attendance and transportation
- Previous warehouse, production, material-handling, or baler experience is helpful but not required
- Forklift experience is a plus but is not required
- Must demonstrate the Standard baler production rate before advancing into the forklift position
- Must successfully complete forklift certification to qualify for the forklift pay increase

Hours:
- Monday–Friday
- 7am – 3:30pm
- Approximately 1–2 hours of overtime per week is common
Pay:
- Starting pay: $13.50 per hour
- Employees can earn a daily production incentive based on the number of bales completed using the baler
- Complete 6 bales in one day to earn an additional $0.50 per hour worked that day, bringing the pay rate to $14.00 per hour for that day
- Complete 7 or more bales in one day to earn an additional $1.50 per hour worked that day, bringing the pay rate to $15.00 per hour for that day
- Incentives are based on daily production and apply to all hours worked on the qualifying day
- Associates who consistently demonstrate the Standard baler production rate and successfully complete forklift certification may advance into the forklift position at $14.50 per hour
