Cost Accountant, Financial Reporting
We are partnering with a growing, acquisition-minded manufacturing organization to identify a Senior Cost Accountant to support multiple production facilities across the United States.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on role reporting to the Controller, with responsibility for cost accounting activities across several manufacturing sites.
This role can be based in any of the following locations:
- Wisconsin
- Missouri
Hybrid Schedule: Approximately 2 days per week in the office
Travel: Approximately 10% travel across manufacturing sites
Role Overview
The Senior Cost Accountant will serve as the primary accounting partner supporting manufacturing operations across multiple sites, ensuring accurate cost tracking, inventory accounting, and financial reporting within a growing, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee cost accounting activities across several manufacturing locations.
- Support standard cost development, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain and analyze inventory accounting and valuation.
- Manage and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related cost structures.
- Partner with operations teams to improve cost visibility and operational efficiency.
- Support month-end close and financial reporting processes.
- Work within ERP systems to maintain accurate financial and inventory data.
- Assist with process improvements and system enhancements across manufacturing sites.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting.
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working in multi-site or multi-entity environments is a plus.
- ERP system experience required.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with operations teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
