, one of the leading manufacturers of pumps & pump systems for heating, cooling & air-conditioning solutions, water supply, and sewage & drainage, is seeking a Motors, Controls, and Instrumentation (MC&I) Product Engineer to join their team. This role can be based in Cedarburg, WI or Rosemont, IL with the ability to travel to Cedarburg a couple of times a month.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline
• Proven experience motor/electromechanical product engineering, including motor controls and VFDs
• PLC programming and troubleshooting is highly preferred

• Motor & VFD engineering: Define requirements and evaluate motors and VFDs for new and existing products.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Translate business needs into motor, controls, and instrumentation requirements with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product teams.
• Supplier technical interface: Lead supplier design reviews, validation plans, and issue resolution through launch.
• Industrial communications: Configure and troubleshoot Modbus, Ether Net/IP, PROFINET, CAN/CANopen, and related interfaces.
• Instrumentation engineering: Specify sensors, transmitters, and control valves; interpret P&IDs and I/O lists.
• Telemetry/Wireless: Support remote monitoring connectivity (Wi-Fi, cellular, LoRa/LPWAN) and basic network and security needs.
• Controls systems integration: Support inverter/motor matching, control loop tuning, and PLC/HMI/SCADA integration.
• Test engineering: Identify and define test lab capabilities and equipment required related to motor evaluation and testing.
• Validation & reliability: Plan and support performance and durability tests, document results, and support failure analysis and FMEA/DFMEA.
• Manufacturing and launch support: Support manufacturability, pilot builds, testing, and product release.
• Field and customer support: Troubleshoot motor, VFD, controls, and connectivity issues for internal teams and customers.
• Compliance and certifications: Support UL/CSA/CE compliance activities and coordination with test agencies.
