Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Mechanical Assembler / Elevator Technician Assistant to join our team in Cedartown, GA. In this role, you will work closely with experienced technicians, assisting with the assembly, maintenance, and preparation of elevators and hoists. Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Assistance: Assist Technicians with elevator maintenance; learn the ins and outs of elevator electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Assembly & Preparation: Pull materials for gates and side screens, assemble side screens, and mount switches to elevators/hoists.
  • Shop Operations: Operate a forklift and soldering tools. Use precision tools to take measurements (tape measures, transits, levels, etc.).
  • Maintenance & Upkeep: Assist in painting elevators/hoists, organize returning materials, and maintain overall shop cleanliness (housekeeping).
  • Safety & Communication: Ensure 100% compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. Check in daily with the direct manager.
Job Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Ability to use basic tools, read procedures, and determine the types of welds needed on various metals.
  • Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work self-sufficiently, strict punctuality, and a strong commitment to following all safety procedures.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to regularly lift 25–50 lbs. Ability to climb, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and sit or walk for extended periods.
  • Work Environment: Willingness to work inside/outside in an un-air conditioned shop and walk outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel: May require extended hours and extensive travel.
  • Safety Gear: Requires exposure to manufacturing areas. Must be willing to wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required, including fire-retardant clothing, resonators, safety glasses, hard hats, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
