Position: Senior Cost Estimator - Moving I-4 Forward

The Opportunity

This position leads the development of cost estimates for large-scale, complex construction works that are often part of major multi‑year programs. The role is responsible for coordinating with diverse technical design teams and independent cost estimating teams to assess and validate costs and risks. It prepares and validates cost and change‑management reports and produces regular budget and cost reports.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Must
  • Lead the development of comprehensive cost estimates based on the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, labor, risk, and general conditions for large and complex construction projects.
  • Oversee and prepare conceptual estimates, change‑order estimates, and other estimates for large, complex projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and assessing and validating costs and risks.
  • Develop and standardize cost report templates and issue budget/cost and change‑management reports, driving consistency and strategic insight across large programs.
  • Produce regular budget and cost reports, including status, forecast at completion, and variance versus baseline budget, and provide recommendations to senior leadership as needed.
  • Identify project constraints and/or needed upgrades, communicate them to the project manager, and collaborate with the team to identify potential solutions and impacts.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure cost considerations are integrated into overall project goals.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and leadership to junior and support staff, assigning tasks for the project duration and ensuring quality assurance throughout the estimation process.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Cost Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically requires 15 years of relevant experience in construction estimation or a similar field.
