Position OverviewThe Pediatric Dental Assistant supports the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care while ensuring an efficient and comfortable experience for children and their families. This role requires a friendly, energetic, and patient-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
- Take and record dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state regulations
- Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed
- Comfort and guide pediatric patients, creating a positive experience
- Provide chairside assistance including suctioning, instrument transfer, and charting
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support office flow by preparing rooms and turning over operatories efficiently
- Assist with inventory management and stocking of clinical supplies
- Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies and procedures
- Prior dental assisting experience preferred (pediatric experience a plus)
- Dental Assistant certification as required by state
- X-ray certification (if applicable by state)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Passion for working with children
- Positive, upbeat, and patient demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Team player with a willingness to learn and grow
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic clinical setting
$18 - $24 an hour
