Under administrative and physician guidance the Physician Assistant (PA) will provide comprehensive primary care services, acute care services and extended care services in medicine for individuals and their families. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, physical exams, diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries, ordering and interpreting tests, counseling on preventive health, and prescribing medications. The PA will have prescriptive authority in the state of Florida under a practice agreement with a supervising physician.
The PA supports the quality of care, coordination of care and throughput of patients who have acute coronary disease or have undergone surgical or interventional procedures, with a primary focus on clinical services. The PA actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all patients and staff.
- Assess patient health status through physical exam, review of patient history, diagnostic tests, procedures, and laboratory data.
- Diagnose acute and chronic conditions affecting all organ systems.
- Initiate orders for medications, laboratory and other diagnostic testing and medical treatments on appropriate forms.
- Prescribe interventions and perform therapeutic measures to ensure the appropriate individualized plan of care is implemented, applying age‑specific knowledge for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Physician Assistant (PA) credential required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
