Unit Highlights

Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Our 40-bed Neuro PCU specializes in the care of stroke patients, including those undergoing stroke evaluations and workups. We also provide comprehensive care for post-neurosurgical patients, individuals requiring continuous EEG monitoring, and patients with seizure disorders. Additionally, we accommodate other progressive care–level patients admitted through the Emergency Department as capacity allows.

The unit maintains a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, supported by a collaborative team that includes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Charge nurses without patient assignments, and a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) available 24/7. Together, we ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a specialized neuro-focused environment.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Full Time. 3/12 hour shifts 7-7 Nights, rotation of weekends and holidays.
