Sr Software Engineer

The Disney Experiences Technology (DXT) team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the My Disney Experience  app and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the DCL Web Commerce organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Product Managers and Quality Assurance Engineers from across the company.

The Senior Software Engineer will report to the Technology Manager.

• Role will be developing features for the Disney Cruise Line website
• Team is 10 developers in size
• Agile process is used, with embedded product and test engineers

• May lead small projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
• Responsible for performing testing and debugging of applications
• Code may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms
• Code at the component level
• Work typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
• Possess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasks
• Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
• Conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
• Design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications
• You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, NestJS, NodeJS, Amazon Web Services, Redis with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies

• Experience with Java, Angular and Redis
• Experience with pull request reviews and approvals
• Ability to complete development tasks with minimum oversight.
• Strong problem solving and analysis skills
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
• Amazon Web Services or equivalent cloud infrastructure experience

• Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
