Our client, a medical device company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations and help drive an efficient close process. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
This position offers strong visibility across the business and the opportunity to partner cross-functionally while contributing to overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities:Core Accounting & Close
- Own key aspects of the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting in alignment with ASC 606
- Maintain and analyze balance sheet accounts, including deferred revenue and related reconciliations
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data is captured
- Manage monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Research and resolve discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Monitor and support cash flow activity, including contributing to short-term forecasting efforts
- Oversee fixed asset and prepaid schedules, including tracking additions, disposals, and amortization
- Support lease accounting activities in accordance with ASC 842
- Ensure proper classification and accuracy of long-term asset-related balances
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance accounting workflows
- Assist in documenting and refining accounting procedures and internal controls
- Collaborate with the team to promote consistency, accuracy, and best practices across processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to general ledger, month-end close, and transactional accounting
- Solid understanding of GAAP
, including familiarity with revenue recognition concepts - Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and work with large data sets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
