Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

CV Resources is partnering with a growing construction company seeking a hands‑on accounting professional to build and lead the accounting function. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, creating structure, and partnering directly with leadership in a small business environment. Historically, the company's accounting has been outsourced. As the first dedicated internal accounting professional, this individual will have the opportunity to establish processes, improve reporting, and build a scalable accounting function to support the company's continued growth.

• Own the full-cycle accounting function from day-to-day transactional accounting through month-end financial reporting.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and oversee the month-end close process.
• Perform both high-level accounting responsibilities and day-to-day administrative accounting tasks, as this is a true hands‑on role. One day may be focused on data entry and vendor payments, while another may involve preparing financial reports for leadership.
• Administer weekly payroll through iSolved for a salaried workforce and assist with new hire onboarding and HR orientation.
• Coordinate annual insurance renewals and work with external tax professionals during tax preparation.
• Develop, document, and improve accounting policies and procedures as the company continues to scale.
• Implement stronger financial reporting, including developing Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and other construction accounting best practices.
• Partner with ownership to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Experience with WIP accounting/reporting or a strong understanding of percentage‑of‑completion accounting.
• Experience using Sage 100 Contractor or another construction accounting ERP such as Sage 300 CRE, Vista, Foundation, CMiC, or Acumatica.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial statement preparation, AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Comfortable working independently as the sole accounting and finance professional.
• Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys building processes and creating structure.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to shift between detailed transactional work and higher‑level financial reporting.
