What Will You Do?- Maintain a consistent field presence, spending 20%-50% of time onsite with customers, including long-distance, overnight travel as required.
- Partner and share ownership with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers as a unified team.
- Complete risk assessment evaluations for moderate to high‑complex accounts, including multi‑location companies and large fleet exposures.
- Write technically detailed reports that clearly assess risk and articulate recommendations.
- Discover and evaluate customer needs through loss analysis and readiness assessment to provide Risk Control products and services.
- Identify uncontrolled exposures and influence customers to implement corrective actions to mitigate loss potential.
- Provide solutions that assist customers in risk mitigation using our extensive resources.
- Stay current with technical subjects, regulatory environment, and emerging issues.
- Create a valued customer experience during each assessment and service encounter.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences, or related technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.
- Recognized relevant certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS).
- Technical aptitude and detail‑oriented mindset.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with stakeholders.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Influencing and negotiating skills to drive business needs and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Ability to give and receive coaching and feedback.
- Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or a related field (e.g., occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military experience).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state‑specific requirements, where applicable.
