- Influence up to $50M+ investment programs in complex, high-hazard environments
- Partner with executive leaders, site teams, and global stakeholders while leading teams across Carseland, AB and Winnemucca, NV
- Drive project excellence, governance, and operational readiness at scale
- Position can be based in Calgary, AB or Centennial, CO with leadership responsibility for teams in Carseland, AB and Winnemucca, NV
- Required to report to the Orica site at least three days a week
Portfolio Leadership & Governance
- Own and lead the North American manufacturing capital portfolio
- Ensure strong alignment between investment priorities, site strategies, and execution plans
- Drive stage‑gate governance and decision‑making discipline
Project Delivery Excellence
- Oversee delivery across the full lifecycle: concept → execution → commissioning → handover
- Ensure best‑in‑class project controls (cost, schedule, risk, change)
- Intervene early to address risks and underperformance
Strategic Business Partnership
- Work directly with site leaders and asset owners to define project success
- Balance operational constraints with growth and compliance requirements
- Integrate projects seamlessly into live plant environments
PMO Capability & Continuous Improvement
- Elevate PMO maturity across the region through tools, coaching, and standards
- Strengthen contractor performance and commercial outcomes
- Embed lessons learned and continuous improvement practices
Required Experience
- Extensive experience in capital project delivery, portfolio governance, or PMO leadership
- Background in chemical manufacturing, mining, energy, or heavy industry
- Proven ability to manage brownfield projects within operating plants
Technical Strengths
- Deep expertise in project controls (cost, schedule, risk, change)
- Strong understanding of process safety, regulatory compliance, and SHES standards
- Commercial acumen in contractor and vendor management

Compensation Range
- $160,000 – $200,000 USD per year
- Eligible for annual short‑term incentive plan
- Eligible for a long‑term incentive plan
- Salary determined by experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity
