The annual base salary range for this position is $85,600.00 - $. Salary will be determined based on place, complexity, experience and other factors. Employees may also receive performance‑based cash incentive awards. The position remains open until September 5, 2026.
What Is the Opportunity?We are looking for a motivated team player to join our Strategic Resolution Group Claim team as a Technical Specialist handling complex toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct and/or environmental claims that may present significant financial exposures. Under general supervision, you will manage moderate to large exposure claims with complex liability and coverage issues, developing strategies to resolve claims efficiently while meeting established protocols and delivering optimal customer service.
You will maintain and develop a strong understanding of applicable law in multiple jurisdictions to successfully manage coverage and liability issues.
- Coverage Research and Analysis: Research existence of policies that may have been issued by multiple legacy companies and analyze coverage, apply legal concepts in applicable jurisdictions, prepare coverage recommendations, review with management, and communicate coverage positions effectively.
- Liability Investigation and Analysis: Conduct thorough investigation and analysis of claim facts to determine liability, apply evolving legal concepts, evaluate damages, develop recommendations for appropriate action, and stay aware of emerging litigation trends.
- Litigation Management: Develop and execute a strategic file management plan achieving optimal resolution, research and recommend counsel, develop litigation and resolution strategies, manage loss adjustment expenses, engage experts, use proper settlement and release terms, and attend meetings with counsel, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials.
- Account Management: Develop in-depth knowledge of newly mature accounts, maintain working relationships with other contacts, ensure consistent handling of claims and settlement agreements, and provide regular communication and reporting to coordinate actions.
- Financial Analysis: Estimate financial exposures on a claim and account basis, develop budgets and financial analyses with supervisor, and maintain defense and indemnity estimates.
- File Maintenance and Administrative Compliance: Maintain well‑documented and organized claim files, use SRG claim systems and databases, adhere to data accuracy requirements, and manage file inventory efficiently.
- Staff Development: May be involved in training, mentoring, and interviewing staff and perform other duties as assigned.
Education &
Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in claim handling, legal, insurance, coverage advice, or environmental fields.

High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in claim handling, legal, insurance, coverage advice, or environmental fields.
Acquisition and maintenance of Insurance License(s) may be required to comply with state and Travelers requirements. Licenses must be obtained within three months of starting the job.
