Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is actively recruiting a full-time Physician to join its Family Medicine practice in their Boulder County clinics. BMC has been providing high quality medical care to Boulder County and its surrounding area since 1949. A physician owned and governed multi-specialty practice of 90 providers including MDs, DOs, Certified Mid-Wives, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and 320 support staff.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Rheumatologist (MD or DO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in the diagnosis and management of autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, spondyloarthropathies, and other connective tissue diseases. This physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care, develop individualized treatment plans incorporating advanced therapeutics and biologic agents, and monitor complex chronic conditions to optimize long-term outcomes.

The Rheumatologist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team—including primary care providers, orthopedic specialists, nephrologists, dermatologists, physical therapists, and infusion services—to ensure coordinated and holistic care. A commitment to evidence-based practice, patient education, and improving quality of life for individuals with chronic rheumatologic conditions is essential.

Required Experience
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of rheumatic and autoimmune conditions.
  • Perform physical examinations, review diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans.
  • Administer joint injections, aspirations, and in-office procedures as needed.
  • Manage and monitor chronic conditions, adjusting treatments based on patient progress.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including primary care, orthopedics, dermatology, and physical therapy.
  • Educate patients on disease management, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive medical documentation.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program and completion of an accredited Rheumatology fellowship program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology.
  • Eligible for or currently holding an active and unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
  • Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and managing autoimmune and inflammatory rheumatic diseases.
  • Strong clinical skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
