Summary of Position
The Maintenance Training and Development Specialist (MTDS) is responsible for creating, planning, and administering programs that improve the skills and knowledge of Liberty’s maintenance department. The MTDS is responsible for maintenance training curriculum at all levels, training schedules, and communicating maintenance training requirements within all Liberty departments. The MTDS works closely with maintenance management to align standards, document equipment improvements, and review efficiencies of the maintenance department to drive overall maintenance improvements.
Qualifications& Requirements
- Must be willing to live within a Liberty district.
- 2+ years experience teaching maintenance related classes in person and via video.
- 4+ years of management or supervisor experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge as it pertains to oil and gas service equipment.
- Analytical skills - evaluates training programs, methods, and materials, and chooses those that best fit each situation.
- Creativity. Specialist should be creative when developing training materials. He/she may need to think of and implement new approaches, such as new technology, when evaluating existing training methods.
- Instructional Skills. Specialist must be able to adapt his/her methods to meet the needs of particular groups.
- Speaking Skills. Specialist must communicate information clearly and facilitate learning by diverse audiences.
- Interpersonal skills. Delivering training programs requires collaboration with instructors, trainees, and subject-matter experts. Most of the work will be accomplished through teams.
- Computer Skills. Operating systems, office suites, presentation software, spreadsheets, communication and collaboration tools, analytics, graphic design, email communication, and data visualization.

- Performs Work Task in a Safe Manner.
- Assesses training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers or instructors.
- Designs and creates training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials.
- Reviews training materials from a variety of sources and chooses appropriate materials.
- Delivers training to employees using a variety of instructional techniques.
- Assists in the evaluation of training programs.
- Performs administrative tasks, such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment.
- Selects, develops, and trains new hires into the maintenance training group.
- Occasionally assists with recruiting specifically when there is a need for maintenance personnel.
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Assesses training materials prepared by instructors.
- Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.

$105,000/YR - $150,000/YR
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
