Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–3:30 PM Hours per Week: 37.5 Contract Length: 20 weeks

Village East Elementary is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in an Intensive Learning Center (ILC) serving grades K–5. This classroom supports 10–13 students with severe needs and includes three SPED Techs in the room for additional support.
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will:
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs
- Support students with significant academic, behavioral, and functional needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and school teams
- Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized student programs
- Offer tutorial assistance and consultation to support inclusive practices
This role is ideal for educators who thrive in a structured, collaborative, and high-impact environment.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by district/state regulations
- Active SSP License required
- One year of teaching experience preferred
- Preferred certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
- Compliance with all professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per state or contract requirements)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
