Job Overview

Position Title: Internship Coordinator/Career Advisor

Job Category: Academic Staff

Employment Type: Regular

Job Profile: Career Development Coordinator

Compensation: $46,000 per year

Location: In-person with option to work remotely one day per week during designated times of the year

Responsibilities
  • Educates or advises students individually or in groups through various mediums about internship/career opportunities, self‑assessment, skills development, and decision‑making.
  • Develops and delivers internship/career development programming and resource materials across various mediums, including internship orientation sessions.
  • Responds to student questions and provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures, employment preparation, and internship‑for‑credit registration.
  • Identifies and maintains a professional network of employers or stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and internships.
  • Participates in the campus‑wide career services community, providing input to leadership on advising, recruitment, internship, and co‑curricular programs.
  • Compiles annual report of internship placements, interprets academic policy to verify internship eligibility, and coordinates internship credit registration and concerns.
  • Coordinates internship progress reports and student evaluations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by the start date.
  • Experience in education or advising.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and apply student development approaches.
  • Effective presentation skills to a variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field by the start date.
  • Experience advising college students on academic or career concerns.
  • Knowledge of student records systems.
  • Familiarity with Career Development theories.
