Job Description

The Early College Academy at Aims Community College is a partnership with Weld County District 6.
The Early College High School program gives high school students the opportunity to earn a high‑school diploma while subsequently earning an Associate of Arts degree. Occasional travel may be required.
Based on course content, wages will range from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit. In certain instances, due to low enrollment, faculty payment will be based on part‑time per credit pay and pro‑rated on a 10% per student basis.
Job Duties- Maintain compliance with the requirements of the Early College assignment, including contract days, work‑day schedule, and participation in Early College events such as New Student Orientation, Student Registration, In‑Service Days and Parent/Teacher Conferences as specified in the Early College Faculty contract addendum.
- Maintain compliance with the provisions of the College’s part‑time faculty position description including teaching to develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, philosophy, objectives and organizational framework of the program.
- Maintain compliance regarding all faculty responsibilities enumerated in the College Policies and Procedures.
- Provide effective and high‑quality instruction in all levels of course offerings by continually refining and modernizing curriculum so that it remains educationally sound and meets the high standards of the College.
- Use alternative delivery technology in lecture and laboratory instruction to enhance student learning.
- Apply learning‑centered educational practices such as creating and communicating clearly defined outcomes for student learning.
- Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Monday‑Friday at Early College Academy, with occasional evenings for parent/teacher conferences and other school activities.
Preferred Qualifications- Master’s degree in sociology, or a Master’s degree including 18 graduate‑level credit hours in sociology or closely related field. Research, publication, or work experience may be substituted for up to three graduate credits. A candidate nearing completion of the Master’s degree may also be considered.
- K‑12 teaching experience.
- Experience with concurrent enrollment or dual enrollment programs.
- Experience using technology in the classroom, or teaching online.

Initial screening will be conducted by a committee based on completed application materials.
