Position SummaryNovastar Kids Co. is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our K-5 instructional team for an immediate start. The ideal candidate is committed to creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences through project-based learning and differentiated instruction.
Teachers at Novastar work collaboratively to provide rotational, ability-based instructional groups using student assessment data to ensure every learner receives instruction at the appropriate level. Candidates must hold a current teaching certificate and have a passion for fostering literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading and writing.
Essential Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with state standards.
- Develop and implement project-based learning experiences that integrate reading, writing, speaking, listening, and research skills.
- Differentiate instruction based on student assessment data and ability group placement.
- Participate in rotational teaching schedules that support targeted instruction for varying student ability levels.
- Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and assessment data.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events.
- Support school-wide initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid Colorado Teaching License
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Elementary teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of literacy instruction and elementary reading and writing development.
- Experience with project-based learning is preferred.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
