Summary

This position is primarily responsible for providing visionary, creative and energetic leadership focused on supporting the growth and development of the Sorority’s educational programs and REAL Leadership initiatives.

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage Education staff.
  • Oversee training, development and performance management of all education staff members.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings and regular team meetings.
  • Supervise and direct all Sorority educational programs and REAL Leadership initiatives to support Gamma Phi Beta’s strategic priorities, mission and vision.
  • Support the chief experience officer by facilitating forward-thinking, data-informed strategies to further Gamma Phi Beta’s educational programs and REAL Leadership initiatives.
  • Create and revise education procedures to establish systematic and routine approaches to improve delivery of educational programs and REAL Leadership initiatives.
  • Lead program assessments for all educational programs and REAL Leadership initiatives. Based on program assessments, adjust to increase learning or improve delivery.
  • Maintain Gamma Phi Beta’s member competencies, mapping educational program and REAL Leadership initiatives to member competency development. Periodically review and propose changes and updates, as necessary.
  • Direct Gamma Phi Beta’s educational programs and resources for belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion (BEDI).
  • Source and secure contracts with keynote speakers and other external partners for educational programs and REAL Leadership events.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments to successfully deliver educational programs and REAL Leadership events.
  • Attend Sorority events (virtual and in person) to support program delivery.
  • Provide periodic reports and recommendations to Gamma Phi Beta’s three boards:
    International Council(IC), Facilities Management Company(FMC) Board of Managers and Foundation Board of Trustees.
  • Serve as a member of the Member Experience division leadership team.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of asynchronous e-learning courses including leading course development strategy, determining user interface priorities for member engagement within the Sorority’s learning management system (LMS) and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot LMS support needs.
  • Recruit, hire, train and support facilitators for educational programs and REAL Leadership initiatives to ensure consistent program delivery and alignment with Gamma Phi Beta’s learning objectives.
  • Attend/represent the Sorority at conferences, workshops and trainings.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in related degree program; master’s degree in higher education and/or human development preferred; five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to four years of supervisory experience is desired.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
Internet, spreadsheet software (Excel), word processing software (Word), electronic mail software (Outlook), presentation (PowerPoint), e-learning software (Articulate) and collaborative workspace (Teams).

Other Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

  • Some night and weekend work commitments. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include travel or participation in evening and/or weekend conference calls and/or Sorority events (in person and virtual).
  • Strong analytical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Supervisory experience working with diverse staff and volunteer functions.
