Overview
As a Principal Hardware Systems Architect, you will provide technical leadership and architectural vision for the design and development of advanced hardware systems and the continuous improvements of existing systems. You will be responsible for the end-to-end hardware lifecycle, from concept and architecture, through design, verification, and product realization. Often leading teams and managing technical trades bridging requirements with detailed electronics design while ensuring reliability and performance compliance in harsh environments.
This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including SEAKR’s Technical Director, systems, software, firmware, hardware, and test systems engineering teams along with manufacturing and supply chain staff. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. We are seeking an experienced engineer who has technical mastery of the entire product development cycle.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural vision for advanced hardware systems.
- Manage end-to-end hardware lifecycle from concept to product realization.
- Lead teams and manage technical trades bridging requirements with detailed electronics design.
- Ensure reliability and performance compliance in harsh environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is desired.
- Must have at least 10 years of hardware implementation experience.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into hardware system specifications and develop hardware level architectures.
- Experience with proposal and capture teams to architect, cost, and optimize concepts for B&P pursuits.
- Deep knowledge of FPGAs, microprocessors, SOCs and memory devices.
- Strong RTL background.
- Broad understanding of systematic hardware, firmware, and software integration.
- Understanding of electronics reliability.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping concepts.
- Expertise with relevant design tools, modeling, and simulation.
- Product optimization for cost and manufacturability.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Working knowledge of radiation hardening and mitigation techniques.
- Working knowledge of multiple EDA suppliers;
Synopsys, Cadence, Ansys, and Siemens. - Knowledge of RF concepts and systems.
- Experience with multiple interface IP; DDR, Non-volatile memory controllers, PCIe, High Speed SERDES, Ethernet, ADC/DACs, Space Wire.
- Power consumption optimization.
- DFT/DFM experience.
- Siemens Xpedition Suite
- Ansys Electronics Enterprise
- AMD Vivado Design Suite
- MATLAB and Simulink
Candidate shall also have leadership skills and ability to provide support and technical direction to junior engineers.
Additional InformationCompensation:
Base salary range is $180,000- $240,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
Onsite work is preferred.
