PositionSummary
As a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer intern, you will participate and assist in one or more of the following: design process, review, fabrication, assembly, mechanical design, boiler steam operations, pumps and pump systems, CMMS, HVAC, cavity models, and project management. This position pays $22.00 hourly.
- Cooperates with the EHS&S Manager to adhere to all regulatory requirements for plant operation while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Undergoes standard Lock/Out, Tag/Out, and Try/Out procedures.
- Performs work under the supervision of senior engineers and/or managers.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Uses AutoCAD.
- Participates in process validation activities and understands process flow.
- Participates in environmental and reliability testing.
- Provides process engineering assistance to troubleshoot operational problems, minimize unit interruptions, and maximize asset utilization.
- Uses cavity prediction models to monitor and predict existing cavities, and plans well reversal/new well drilling/pullbacks.
- Works closely with Operations to understand the production and process.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with plant employees.
- Completes other projects as assigned.
- Prepares and formally presents project work to Plant Management at the end of the internship.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to walk, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to sit, stand, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Performed in both outdoor and indoor environments; outdoor includes exposure to summer temperatures.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
- Working conditions are typically moderately loud and occasionally very loud; hearing protection is available and required.
- Any essential function or requirement may be evaluated as necessary if an incumbent/applicant is unable to perform due to a disability per the ADA; reasonable accommodation will be considered when possible.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations.
U.S. Market-Based Salary Range
[$20.00 - $24.00]
In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
