We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Municipal Drinking Water to lead complex water infrastructure projects throughout Colorado and the western United States. This role is ideal for a technically strong, people-focused leader who enjoys solving challenging water quality problems, mentoring emerging engineers, and delivering high-impact projects for public-sector clients.

Strong organizational skills, a flexible team-player mindset, and the ability to lead through overlapping schedules and evolving requirements are essential to success in this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and guidance through all phases of engineering projects from concept through completion, including safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, project controls, and public/community relations.
Understand and apply conventional and advanced drinking water treatment technologies to solve complex water quality challenges.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality services that meet internal QA/QC standards and client expectations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted partnerships and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets to ensure financial and operational success.
Plan, organize, and communicate project personnel needs to department management.
Track and communicate project progress, cost and schedule metrics, design questions, and project challenges requiring leadership support.
Manage the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
Provide performance feedback, coaching, and mentorship to project team members; actively support the growth and development of future leaders.
Lead or support business development efforts, including proposals, pursuit strategies, and client presentations.
Leverage existing client relationships and promote repeat business within assigned client accounts.
Proactively identify upcoming project opportunities and position the organization for future work.
Maintain visibility in the regional water and wastewater market through leadership roles and participation in professional organizations.
Share industry insights, emerging trends, and market feedback with water leadership teams.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited program (required).
Minimum 7 years of related experience in design engineering (10 years preferred), including 3+ years managing engineering projects.
A master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Previous consulting experience preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) or other relevant professional registration preferred.
Demonstrated success in project management strongly preferred.
Proven ability to develop business, win work, and establish long-term client relationships strongly preferred.
Prior experience on construction project sites or in program management within water, government, energy, transmission & distribution, manufacturing, aviation, or related industries preferred.
Strong knowledge of project controls, document management, scheduling, cost control, and project management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex technical information to clients, management, and project teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
Ability to apply diversified engineering knowledge across a broad range of assignments and develop innovative approaches to technical challenges.
Demonstrated ability to influence, lead, and manage change in a positive and thoughtful manner.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; willingness to work overtime as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with owners, contractors, engineers, and designers in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
