Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role can be located at our Centennial, Colorado or Loveland, Ohio facility.

Role responsibilities
  • Lead engineering work on the compressor module for aviation jet engines using sound engineering principles and industry standards to execute design, analysis, evaluation, and assemblies.
  • Provide expertise in compressor design with analytical tools and complete/meets mechanical and aero analysis requirements for the module.
  • Lead engine system or component test programs from a hardware design perspective, setting test objectives, limits, instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning to validate components.
  • Serve as the component design subject matter expert within a diverse system design team; ensure products and sub-systems meet overall design requirements and advocate for component capability while understanding trade-offs and business decisions.
  • Coordinate with analysis engineers and/or conduct analyses and design optimization to meet product requirements; lead design reviews and collaborate with other disciplines (design, performance, controls, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials, system analysis).
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
  • Participate in research and development of technologies and methodologies related to additive design; advise on improving product design through additive manufacturing.
  • Initially operate as an individual contributor in a dynamic, self-directed start-up environment; as the organization grows, contribute to scaling design capability for additional projects and potential future leadership. Growth of leadership capabilities with the role is important.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated, consistent with engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 8+ years of experience in gas turbine component design
  • Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, CFD, etc.)
  • Experience working with compressors for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspective
  • Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $,000 base salary. Salary is a general guideline and may reflect factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
