Job Summary
The X‑Labs Operations team accelerates the innovation of Comcast’s next‑generation architectures and products. We provide production‑like environments that serve as the backbone for development and quality assurance, and our people help align the many advancements within Comcast and our industry.
Role OverviewAs an X‑Labs Operations Engineer, you are directly accountable for the physical installation, maintenance, and support within Comcast’s national labs. You participate in project teams, troubleshoot operational issues, provide technical solutions, implement new products and services, and maintain designated engineering areas. You respond to network incidents, determine resources needed for correction, and drive resolution. You act in compliance with industry and company standards, maintain deep knowledge of MSO architectures such as CRAN, DAA, NDC, HFC, and cloud video, and serve as a resource for colleagues.
You interface regularly with vendors and partner engineering organizations, and may lead teams, projects, and provide technical leadership to junior engineers.

- Advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies, and processes, ensuring projects are integrated into operations tooling, including lifecycle management and DCIM.
- 5–7 years of experience in MSO architectures, including HFC, DAA, PON, etc.
- Proven ability to analyze and physically evaluate complex IP/RF/optical networks, identify issues, and apply corrections to improve network operation efficiency.
- Self‑starter demonstrating critical thinking, self‑motivation, time management, courage, and curiosity.
- Intermediate knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (power/space/cooling) and their importance to DCIM.
- Ability to identify operational and performance opportunities; assist with creating strategies and recommendations to improve network availability.
- Ability to partner with functional teams to influence and drive alignment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ticketing platforms such as JIRA.

CompensationPrimary Location Pay Range: $80,472.12 – $. Base pay is one part of total rewards. A commission or bonus may apply depending on the role.
EducationBachelor’s Degree.
Relevant Work Experience2–5 Years.
