Job Title
This full‑time position reports to the Assistant Chief of Facility Plans and Programs of our Army Division, in the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO) and works Tuesday through Friday, 10-hour days.
Responsibilities- Capturing, storing, manipulating, documenting, distributing, and displaying geographically referenced information from a variety of sources ensuring real property data is captured on a GIS map with utilization rates;
- Manipulating and analyzing data which may include quality assurance, creating and maintaining of spatial data topology and attributes, format manipulation, geo‑referencing, and datum and projection transformations;
- Verifying, correcting, and updating GIS data layers to assist in master planning decisions by creating site plans that depict installation facilities, land uses, areas for future development and encroachments;
- Compiling, attributing, editing, and maintaining data in geographic and operational databases;
- Performing site surveys that will require some in‑state overnight travel using Global Positioning System hardware and software, processing data into the facility model database;
- Using queries and GIS applications to generate reports and maps, and ensuring and enhancing data quality;
- Ensuring data and data processing procedures adhere to standards, policies, and other guidelines;
- Participating in meetings, training seminars, and GIS user groups;
- Facilitating and maintaining real property related data layers (including site boundaries, parcels, and easements) to ensure the accurate and timely update of the Real Property Inventory, developing a connection between existing facility conditions and the capital investment strategy through the incorporation of Installation Status Reporting (ISR) and other assessment data;
- Using and maintaining knowledge and skills with utility and data conversion software, digitizing tablets, computer screen digitizing, and other methods for capturing data (i.e. ESRI, GIS, CADD/GIS, SDSFIE, FGDC, CSDGM);
- Assisting non‑GIS users with questions and reports regarding facility information, models, maps, charts, and other GIS innovations.

Two (2) years of professional experience in an occupation related to the work assigned or in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Urban Planning, Cartography, Earth Science, Natural Resources, Landscape Architecture, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or Surveying (Please detail this in your experience on your online application).

A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, certification in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Urban Planning, Cartography, Earth Science, Natural Resources, Landscape Architecture, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or Surveying and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years.
