About the RoleAs a Systems Engineer, you will use your skills to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting‑edge products and services. You’ll develop complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and testing. As a cross‑functional engineer, you own system‑level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead the engineering team in the design and development of satellite systems.
- Work closely with the mission chief engineer and subsystem leads to architect a space vehicle to meet the mission requirements.
- Lead the engineering team to conduct spacecraft performance modeling and simulation.
- Support the development of spacecraft CONOPs.
- Establish and track key Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
- Collaborate with the Space Vehicle Program Manager to manage team performance including cost, schedule and risk.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to communicate design status and technical details.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and develop strategies for their insertion into both legacy and next‑generation spacecraft.
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Progressive experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
- Strong knowledge of satellite design including EO and/or RF payloads, avionics, mechanical, thermal and software.
- Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.
- An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required.
- Background in Aerospace or Defense industry.
Pay Range: $ – $. Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
Security ClearanceThis position requires current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required. Non‑U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
