Overview
CPI Adam Works in Centennial, Colorado, has a need for a Senior Buyer to join our staff. The Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing, and purchasing inventory and materials in support of CPI needs, working with close supervision.
Company ProfileCPI Adam Works is a division of CPI Radant Technologies Division, located in Centennial, Colorado. Together, we are the radome-and-composite‑structures division of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI). We serve the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries by designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors and structural composite products.
What We Do- We enable secure communications and radar/electronic‑warfare capabilities for military and commercial aerospace platforms.
- We manufacture large apertures and achieve high‑frequency performance.
- Our advances in composite manufacturing and large structures feed into modern aircraft, satellites, naval vessels, etc.
- Primary liaison between CPI and our suppliers.
- Source parts required (production and facility) from suppliers.
- Assist Engineering with the qualification of new suppliers identified in sourcing efforts.
- Creates and maintains purchase orders.
- Pulls all documentation and sends out quote requests to suppliers.
- Evaluates supplier quotes and awards accordingly.
- Works with Planning to disposition excess and obsolete material.
- Assists Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Resolves and/or escalates supplier related issues promptly.
- Helps resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI employees.
- Supports Business Development efforts by preparing costed BOMs for quotes.
- Develops and implements supply chain automation.
- Performs other tasks and duties as required.
- Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annually.
- Experience with ERP and/or MRP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
- Knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP messages.
- Ability to present solutions when notifying management of an issue.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of government contractor purchasing requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree and/or APICS certification a plus.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience as a buyer within a manufacturing environment.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Ability to work seated at a computer for long periods of time.
- Ability to go onto the shop floor and other departments as needed.
This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR, i.e., a citizen or national of the United States; a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
