Job DescriptionSeeking an Electrical Engineer with a fundamental knowledge of complex digital design utilizing microprocessors, ASICs, FPGAs, and various memory technologies. Responsible for developing new architectures, refining existing architectures, and developing requirements. Lead a design team from initial specification through to hardware delivery—including box, module, and board level designs, FPGA and software implementation, simulation, analysis, test plan and execution. Perform detailed review of other engineers’ designs, approve engineering drawings, and lead program design team through hardware checkout and validation in a lab environment as well as full system box integration and environmental testing.
Responsibilities- Digital board design: design documentation, schematic capture, review, SI and PI analysis, routing instructions, board layout oversight, documentation of test plan, mandatory hardware verification and debug.
- Hands‑on debug of lab issues using bench supplies, scopes, and logic analyzers.
- Oversee multiple module designs in a complex box system, providing technical oversight to design team members.
- Coordinate efforts across Electrical Hardware, Logic, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Test, and Systems Engineering to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
- Support full program life‑cycle oversight from APT kick‑off to delivery, including environmental qualification and acceptance testing (thermal cycle, vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC).
- Lead program team on major reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, PSR, etc.
- Contribute to detailed reviews of FPGA, software, and mechanical designs.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of limited local travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required;
Master’s preferred. - 10+ years of design experience.
- Extensive knowledge of circuit design and signal integrity.
- Experience leading module debug and system integration.
- Familiar with environmental test methods and flow.
- Understands and performs worst‑case analysis.
- Proven ability to lead system integration and test of digital board, FPGA, and system software.
- Strong ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership and mentorship for less experienced engineers.
- Experience with digital/RF electronics design, schematic capture, FPGA design, embedded systems, single board computers, or embedded software design desired.
