What you will be doing- Serve as a subject matter expert for DCS, SIS, and industrial instrumentation systems.
- Support functional safety programs and act as the Manufacturing Centre Responsible Engineer for SIS.
- Ensure Safety Instrumented Systems meet defined SIL requirements through testing, verification, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Lead technical reviews of Management of Change (MOC) proposals relating to control and safety systems.
- Provide technical support for production, maintenance, projects, analytics, supply chain, and operational teams.
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, control philosophies, trip logic, loop drawings, and DCS programming.
- Support plant historian systems, data integrity, and backup strategies.
- Partner with site and project teams to identify reliability improvements and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with global experts to standardize best practices and advance automation capabilities across the business.
Required
- 3+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, process control, or instrumentation systems.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, or Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing or process industry environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders.
- Experience supporting chemical, mining, manufacturing, energy, industrial process, or heavy industrial operations.
- Knowledge of functional safety principles, SIL verification, and SIS lifecycle management.
- Experience with industrial networking, historians, and process instrumentation.
- Understanding of Management of Change (MOC) processes and engineering standards.
- Individual contributor with no direct reports
- Must be open to reporting to the Centennial office at least three days a week
- Ability to travel up to 50% throughout the US and Canada
