About The Role
The Sr Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and build of security architectures. This role oversees the implementation of network and computer security and ensures compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures. The position requires extensive experience in secure systems architecture, emerging technologies, threats, and regulatory requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex security projects, stay updated with the latest industry trends, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization’s security posture.
Responsibilities- Plan, design, and build security architectures to protect the organization’s information systems.
- Oversee the implementation of network and computer security measures and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation; collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into system designs and deployments.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts; provide technical support and troubleshooting to maintain the security posture.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements; participate in security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with frameworks.
- Apply knowledge of secure systems architecture to enhance the organization’s infrastructure; monitor and address emerging technologies and threats.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior cybersecurity staff on security practices and technologies.
- Perform risk assessments to identify gaps in existing architectures, tools, or processes and propose effective solutions.
- Decompose cybersecurity frameworks and regulations into actionable system requirements.
- Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience; or Masters + 6 years experience).
- Typically 8+ years of related experience.
- Certifications:
GIAC, CISSP, CISM, or SANS level 400 courses (1 or more required). - Knowledge of emerging technologies, threats, and regulatory requirements; knowledge of enterprise risk management.
- Ability to design, develop, implement, document, improve, and operate cybersecurity programs across one or more functional areas.
- Active U.S. Secret clearance required.
- Certifications:
CCSP, CISA, CISM, CISSP. - Experience with SIEM tools and cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Advanced knowledge of network security protocols; scripting in Python, Power Shell, or Bash for automation.
- Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions and zero trust architecture principles.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS; IAM solutions; threat intelligence platforms;
Dev Sec Ops practices. - Experience leading and mentoring junior cybersecurity professionals and driving security roadmaps.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale security projects and initiatives; strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- Active U.S. Top Secret clearance highly preferred.
Pay Range: $ - $. Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
