Senior Major Case Specialist

Responsibilities

• Join the Strategic Resolution Group Claim team as a Major Case Specialist, handling complex toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct, environmental, or excess claims with significant financial exposures and multiple factors that influence complexity and severity.
• Independently manage high‐frequency, high‐severity claims and accounts under general supervision, addressing unique liability and coverage issues.
• Develop strategies to resolve these claims efficiently and effectively, meeting established protocols and delivering optimal customer service.
• Apply highly advanced knowledge of legal issues and applicable case law in multiple jurisdictions.
• Handle multi‐plaintiff and multi‐jurisdiction litigation, potentially shaping future legal precedent in coverage liability and nationwide valuation trends.
• Manage cases involving emerging legal trends and liability theories.
• Provide training, mentoring, technical coaching, and assist with interviewing and hiring.
• Act as a technical coach for claim professionals, guiding them in managing their complex claims inventory, forging effective relationships, and ensuring consistency in account management.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years of experience in toxic tort, latent injury, environmental claim and coverage determination, or comparable experience in severe, highly complex liability claims and litigation.
• 4 years of experience in environmental claim and coverage determination, bodily injury or property damage claim handling, or comparable claim litigation, plus 3 years of SRG experience.
• Licensing required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Analytical thinking, communication, judgment and decision‑making, teamwork, accountability, customer focus, relationship management, business perspective, knowledge of regulatory and claim environments, planning and organizing, technology, and ability to work independently.
• Application of departmental practices and procedures.
