Fleet Mechanic - Diesel & General Maintenance

Bailey’s Moving & Storage is seeking a proactive Fleet Mechanic to maintain our varied fleet that includes tractors, trailers, straight trucks, light-duty vehicles, and forklifts. This position offers the freedom to set your own priorities and the opportunity to work both indoors and outdoors, providing a perfect blend of routine and unexpected tasks.

As our Fleet Mechanic, you will be trusted with the autonomy to diagnose and resolve issues across our diverse fleet. You’ll manage your daily tasks based on urgency and complexity, from conducting DOT inspections to performing both onsite and occasional mobile repairs.

• Autonomous Workflow Management:
  Organize and prioritize work tickets as you see fit, ensuring the most critical issues are addressed promptly.
• Diverse Mechanical Repairs:
  Perform a broad spectrum of mechanical repairs including but not limited to diagnostics, wiring issues, valve and seal replacements and more.
• Preventative Maintenance:
  Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure fleet reliability.
• Operational Support:
  Assist drivers with pre-trip inspections (when needed) and address start-up issues, ensuring all vehicles are ready for safe operation.
• Maintenance Documentation:
  Utilize our maintenance software (E-Maint) to meticulously track all maintenance activities and vehicle service histories.

• Proven experience in diesel and general vehicle maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with DOT regulations and requirements.

Preferred:
Possession of a Class A CDL and own tools.
