Title: Safety Director

Location: Denver CO, Rapid City SD, or El Paso TX

Salary: ~$160k+ (DOE)

Bonus: 18.75%

Relocation Package: Yes

About the Role

The Safety Director serves as a key leader responsible for driving safety strategy, strengthening safety culture, and ensuring consistent execution of safety programs across all operations. This role provides proactive leadership, guidance, and coaching to support safe, reliable, and compliant work environments.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and systems.
  • Partner with operational leaders to integrate safety into planning, decision making, and daily execution.
  • Identify and reduce exposures, support risk mitigation efforts, and drive improvements in safety performance.
  • Manage multiple priorities across departments to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Assess training needs, capability gaps, and performance issues; support effective solutions.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure compliance and program readiness.
  • Build organizational capability by coaching and developing safety managers.
  • Engage employees at all levels to reinforce expectations and strengthen safety culture.
  • Serve as a primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Safety Management experience.
  • 5+ years working with MSHA.
  • Cement or aggregate industry experience preferred.
  • Proven supervisory experience including coaching, team development, and performance management.
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Skilled in data analysis, decision making, and balancing detail with big picture impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn safety related software tools.
