The position of a Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground within the Pauley Construction structure is to manage two to four crews consisting of crew leaders or foremen. The work includes repetitive assignments within a Superintendent’s structure, conducting tailgate meetings and leadership meetings, and ensuring productivity goals are met. The supervisor communicates with external customers including city inspectors and personnel, coordinates pre-construction meetings, and maintains safety and production records, along with as-builts.
The main objective is to directly manage each crew and the type of work assigned with a focus on safety, quality, and meeting or exceeding production requirements as established by the direct manager.
Responsibilities- Oversees and lead crews in meeting and maintaining daily production goals and in maintaining production records.
- Coordinates with the direct manager to invoice jobs in a timely manner per company policy and area goals for each job.
- Ensure all company safety policies, OSHA, DOT and any special project requirements are complied with for each crew assignment.
- Manage all accident investigations, including job damage, employee injury and vehicle accidents, in coordination with the Superintendent when applicable.
- Attend safety meetings with the assigned crews and participate in in-house and outsourced training as required by company policy.
- Investigate property owner complaints with the Superintendent and take responsibility for addressing them.
- Ensure 100% adherence to all company safety policies.
- Communicate equipment needs to the direct manager, including repair, maintenance, and rental needs.
- Maintain trucks and equipment in a clean condition.
- Staffing, training, and performance management of employees, including collaboration with Human Resources for recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, disciplining, and terminations as needed.
- Consult with the direct manager before ordering or procuring new material.
- Interface with customers to discuss needs and jobs.
- Complete a total of 8 JSO’s including auditing of direct reporting crews; perform daily DVIR if required.
- Ensure assigned fleet is gate checked within a 45-day timeframe.
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Must pass a background check and company drug screening
- Must attend and pass all required company training
- Valid State driver’s license (not provisional) with acceptable driving record
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
- Experience in telecommunications or utility construction
- Proven leadership experience guiding employees to produce high quality results and teamwork
- Any combination of education and/or experience demonstrating ability to perform duties
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions given in written, oral, or drawing form; ability to handle problems involving variables across employees, customers, vendors, and the public
Mathematical
Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, measurements, percentages, and area; apply basic mathematics and basic accounting principles
Language
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operation manuals; write reports; communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and vendors
- Physical duties include standing, crouching, sitting, bending, handling or feeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, crawling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other movements as required
- Noise level is moderate; field and office environments
- Exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and driving conditions
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, chemicals, moving machinery, and other hazards
- Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Pay Range
:
The annual wage range for the role is $70,000 - $92,000 depending on experience.
