Deputy Chief of Party

Job Overview

This Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) leads the multi‑national implementation of a large, grant‑funded program, coordinating with a consortium of NGOs to deliver results aligned with the award agreement and national stakeholders.

• Lead country management teams in contextualizing the program model to local needs, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and best practices.
• Maintain relationships with host country governments, faith‑based networks, and local partners to advance project objectives across multiple countries.
• Oversee the preparation and timely submission of country‑specific progress reports and other donor and governance documentation.
• Manage overall budgeting and financial accountability, ensuring costs stay within grant funding limits and comply with legal and corporate policies.
• Develop and conduct performance management, coaching and annual reviews of staff and subordinate managers.
• Drive the progressive transition of project leadership and responsibilities to local partners, or lead project closeout and ramp‑down activities.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and collaborate with senior leaders to resolve challenges and maintain timelines.

• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing donor‑funded programs focused on disaster preparedness, emergency response, or disaster risk reduction.
• Experience managing multiple sub‑awardees within a consortium.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in strategic planning, budget management, and performance evaluation.
• Commitment to adhering to child protection standards and organizational code of conduct.
