Panel Technician Lead (Centennial, CO)
Pay $27-$35 per hour DOE
Position SummaryThis person serves as a Lead Panel Technician, having the responsibility to train others, assist with difficult technical questions, and at times assume the role of the Assistant Supervisor as needed. Assists the Supervisor in meeting department production deadlines and quality standards. Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems: follows sample assemblies, receives verbal instructions, and follows wiring diagrams.
Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in enclosure. Crimp connectors, screws, bolts, to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Mounts assembled components to enclosure sub panels. Connect component lead wires to wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, or terminals using hand tools. Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into enclosures.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution required; a two-year degree in Industrial Automation is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience with assembly, panel building RTUs, PLCs or VFDs.
- This position requires an expert level of panel building knowledge.
- Experience with blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and point to point drawings is essential.
- Must be dedicated, hardworking, focused, and have a high attention to detail.
- Must be able to multi-task and guide and train others effectively.
- Must enjoy teamwork, learning, variety, and working with your hands.
- Must be able to perform repetitive work while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Good eye-hand coordination is required.
- Must have great color vision and the ability to identify wires by color.
- Hand dexterity is important, as small parts may need to be assembled.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Use of both standard and specialized tools for industrial automation assembly.
- Must understand the functionality of all common components and their proper use.
- Answer highly technical questions from others accurately and effectively.
- Be able to train, coach, and mentor others in optimum techniques.
- Safely operate a variety of tools and machinery in the assembly of products.
- Capable of utilizing highly automated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain professional behavior and proper communication with internal and external contacts, including company employees, managers, and outside vendors.
- Must understand the details of assembly drawings.
- Comply with all safety work procedures.
- Successfully complete requested training classes and maintain all necessary safety certificates.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and hazard free.
- Effectively utilize the Microsoft office suite.
- Work in a team environment.
- Effectively manage time and follow directions.
- AutoCAD experience is preferred.
- General knowledge of office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, computers, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Working in a shop environment and must follow all safety, housekeeping, and organizational policies.
- Able to sit and work at computer keyboard or workstation for extended period.
- Able to stand for long periods and have significant physical stamina.
- Able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 60 pounds.
- Able to climb stairs, work at heights.
- Maintain regular and on-time attendance. Position is 40 hours per week but may exceed 40 hours per week.
- Able to perform general office administrative activities of copying, filing, faxing, and using the telephone.
