Specialty Educator Peri Op Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a program of education for their specialty (Peri Op). Programming includes coordination of orientation with facility departments in specialty area, ongoing staff competency, and continued education at the unit and/or facility level as identified by needs assessments, audits, data‑informed decision making, and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to their populations.
The scope of the education will be determined through collaborative practice with Clinical Specialists, Facility‑based educators, and providers to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care. Works closely with the Clinical Specialist to align with annual specialty education initiatives, specialty orientation, and other region initiatives. May be required to deploy to sites based on initiatives or programs as needed.
This position reports centrally at the region level. Position will be over Greater Colorado and Kansas.
Job Requirements- Three years of experience in nursing is required.
- Two years of experience in the designated specialty (med‑surg) is required.
- A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN), required.
- Masters Degree preferred.
- Current RN License to practice in the state of employment as applicable, required.
- Nursing Specialty Certification required: sit within 6 months; achieve within 1 year of hire or transfer to the role.
